About this Event
Welcome to Humanities on Tap!
Ready to raise a glass to the folk music of Britain and Ireland? Sing along to rowdy choruses and soulful melodies from the coasts of the Celtic and Irish seas. Test your wits with trivia about how the music shows up in pop culture. From Sinners to Outlander to the living traditions of British and Irish pubs, we’re diving into the region’s music… and a pint of ale as well.
Led by musicologist and musician Nicholas Booker, this interactive session explores the storytelling and cultural history behind traditional folk music . Enjoy a lively evening featuring a community singalong and trivia that connects historical melodies to the modern pub experience. This free event offers a unique, easygoing space to explore the humanities over local drinks.
