About this Event

January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month — a nationally recognized time dedicated to raising awareness, strengthening protection efforts, and empowering communities with prevention-focused education.

In honor of Human Trafficking Prevention Month, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia is hosting a major community presentation to equip residents with practical knowledge and tools to help prevent trafficking and exploitation.

This high-impact event is hosted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, in partnership with the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR), with the support of the Fourth District Citizens Advisory Council (4D CAC), and venue sponsorship by Emory Beacon of Light.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what human trafficking is, how it occurs, how to recognize warning signs, and what prevention looks like at the community level. The program will also include expert insights on child exploitation and trafficking prevention, a community Q&A, and educational resources available onsite.
