Advanced and Standard Students will explore a range of reading and writing strategies that will equip them for studying this common module.
About this Event

This lecture will revisit how the core rubric statements structure our understanding of the human experience and how these texts shape our understanding of these representations. Students will revisit Paper 1 and explore practical strategies that will assist in answering the Section 1 questions to the Unseen texts.

The lecture will also briefly revise a range of the most popular prescribed texts for the Section 2 essay for both Standard and Advanced.

  • Shakespeare, William, The Merchant of Venice
  • Orwell, George, Nineteen Eighty-Four
  • Parrett, Favel, Past the Shallows
  • Miller, Arthur, The Crucible
  • Daldry, Stephen, Billy Elliot

Participants are advised to bring a drink bottle and fully charged laptop or note taking items.

Reserve copies of the prescribed texts here.
