About this Event
Person Centered Thinking training is recommended for everyone involved in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and others who use long term services and supports. Participants will develop skills in person-centered thinking through a series of remote discussions, applied stories, and guided exercises.
This remote version of Person-Centered Thinking Training will be instructor-led and interactive, using Zoom videoconferencing. The course includes four (4) 4-hour modules to be held from 12:30pm to 4:30pm PT on October 28, 30, November 4, and 6, 2024. Participants must attend all sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Describe the benefits of person-centered descriptions and one page descriptions.
- Practice person centered thinking skills with a partner to create your own person-centered description and one-page description.
- Apply person-centered thinking practices to make a positive difference in people's lives.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Mental Health, Aging, Healthcare, and Intellectual/Developmental Disability professionals and others interested in the practical application of person-centered thinking skills.
REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. Class size is limited. Registration will close 1 week prior to event.
CERTIFICATE: To receive a certificate of attendance, participants must attend all six online sessions of Person-Centered Thinking Training. Continuing Education Units are not issued for this training at this time.
To participate in this remote course you will want to make sure you have access to the following:
- Computer with reliable internet
- Webcam so you can see and be seen by others
- Computer speaker and microphone (headset or earbuds are recommended)
- Ability to access Zoom.us (videoconferencing app)
