About this Event
How We See AI is a workshop series run by Maggie Murphy and Kelley O’Brien, a duo of artists and researchers who use collage inquiry as an arts-based research method to learn about how people perceive artificial intelligence through symbolism and metaphor.
This workshop will feature an interactive talk by Carrie Sijia Wang, a socially-engaged artist and educator whose work investigates the relationships between human and machine, technology and power, language and alienation. Following an interactive talk and Q&A about Carrie's own work with artificial intelligence, including through her project Whose AI, participants will be encouraged to create collages that respond to questions about the growing role of AI in society and visual culture.
This workshop is supported by a UNC Greensboro Faculty Research Grant.
