In order to be successful in production farming, there are some fundamentals needed to be successfull.
Firstly, crop planning is essential to successful food production allowing for efficient use of space and resources, seasonal adaptation, soil health, pest & disease management, increased yields & profitability and market timing to name a few.
In this 2 - part crop planning workshop, Lisa Attaway, farm manager with Green City Growers, will discussing the fundamentals of production farming and putting an effective crop plan together that ensures a successful growing operation.

Part 1: Fundamentals of Crop Planning
In this introductory session, participants will learn the essentials of crop planning and management. This workshop will cover what crop planning entails, why it is crucial for a successful growing season, and how to develop an effective crop plan. Participants will gain insights into selecting crops, timing plantings, and managing resources to maximize yields and minimize waste.

Part 2: Hands-On Crop Planning
In this practical, interactive session, participants will apply the principles from Part 1 to create their own spring crop plans. With guidance from Lisa, participants will map out their garden spaces, select appropriate crops, and schedule planting dates to suit their unique needs. By the end of this workshop, each participant will have a tailored crop plan to guide them through the upcoming growing season.
