Ethics Social Group: Research, Discussion, and Casual Debate
Come join us for an engaging evening at Union of lively discussions and casual debates on various ethics-related topics. Let's explore the nuances of right and wrong together, challenge our assumptions, and learn from one another. Share your thoughts, argue your point of view, and sharpen your critical thinking skills in a friendly and inclusive environment. All backgrounds and perspectives are welcome. Our group members bring passionate perspectives that are informed by philosophy, policy expertise, social justice, personal experience, emotion, reason, imagination, legal implications, or anything else that might impact the ethical outcomes of the selected case studies.
Prior to each meetup, participants will have a few weeks to research the case study, and gather evidence that supports an argument, stance, perspective, or variety of perspectives that analyze the ethics of the situation described in the case study. Research helps our group discussions to be guided by informed perspectives, so that we can imagine realistic solutions to today's most pressing issues. Participants are encouraged to do research prior to the meetups, but it is not required.
This social group is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is treated with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, ability, or socioeconomic status. We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment, and any behavior that violates this principle will not be tolerated within our group.
