About this Event
How to Write Fiction, a masterclass by Olivia Wheldon
Hemingway famously didn't say 'write drunk, edit sober,' but we believe it's great advice, regardless.
Join us for an evening of wine and words. If you're craving connection with other writers and want to hone your skills on the page, you've come to the right place. Whether you're a signed, published or aspiring author, you're welcome here.
What can you expect?
On arrival, you'll be greeted by Olivia Wheldon, a signed author and Faber Academy alumna, who is currently penning her debut novel. You'll receive a refreshing glass of wine and be invited to take a seat with the other guests. We'll engage in a little meet-and-greet sesh (the edge of which will hopefully be taken off by aforementioned wine) before delving into an inspiring writing workshop followed by a lesson in how to write great fiction.
The location?
Come mingle with fellow wordsmiths at Bread and Butter Collection with its charming creaking floorboards, houseplants, Persian rugs and massive orange Smeg fridge humming away (Hummingway?) in the corner, all in the centre of Shoreditch.
The objective?
In essence, we hope you leave this session feeling inspired and uplifted, having spent time in a room with other literary folk, and that you come away having learnt something new about the writing process that you can tap into when you next 'sit down and bleed,' to paraphrase Stephen King.
