About this Event
Join Julie King, JD, and Parent Educator of the Center for Children and Youth, for How to Talk So Kids Get Along With Each Other.
Conflict, Competition, Comparisons . . . Why canβt they just get along?
If you live or work with one or more kids of any age who interact with other kids of any sort (siblings, cousins, playmates, classmates, etc.), this workshop is for you!
We will focus on the perils of comparisons between children, the potential destructiveness of roles and labels, and how they can feed into an atmosphere of conflict and ill will. Participants can do hands-on exercises to practice effective strategies that promote harmony and good-will. The emphasis is less on what to do when kids fight and more on what we can do outside of the moment to reduce the overall conflict, to begin with. (To handle fighting immediately, please sign up for the How To Talk When Kids Fight, Argue, or Bicker workshop.)
