Learn practices to balance and calm the nervous system and maintain improved health and wellbeing
About this Event

Many of us lead busy lives saturated by deadlines, over-responsibility, chronic tension, and stress. Taking time to pause, look within, and reconnect with ourselves and what matters most is imperative to maintaining our health and wellbeing.

Polyvagal theory expands our understanding of the autonomic nervous system and its nuanced regulation of stress and rest throughout the body, mind, and senses. By exploring Polyvagal Theory and iRest Yoga Nidra Practice you’ll learn to recognize the language of your nervous system and how it’s wired for connection. You’ll come to see how it keeps you safe, helps you navigate life’s ups and downs, and supports an interconnection with others and the world around you.

During this workshop, Stephanie will introduce you to the core principles underlying iRest, explore how iRest supports your nervous system and general sense of wellbeing, and offer two guided iRest meditations along with micro practices to use during your everyday life. You will explore first-hand the effect of these simple practices to balance and calm the nervous system. There will be plenty of time for questions and reflections. Everyone is welcome.

You will learn concepts from polyvagal theory and principles of iRest that you can immediately apply that includes:

· 10 Steps of iRest yoga nidra meditation

· Establishing 'welcoming' within meditation and life itself

· Developing a vibrant inner resource to use as a ventral vagal anchor that fosters health, wellbeing, and resilience from stress and anxiety

· Learning accessible practices to support both co-regulation and self-regulation

· Nourishing a felt sense of well-being

· Working with difficult emotions and beliefs

· Supporting healthy rest and sleep

. Learning how to integrate the practices of iRest into daily life
