About this Event

Reading group & discussion with Florenza Deniz Incirli from Critical Coffee Reading (EVENT RESCHEDULED FROM DEC'25)

Our final autumn seminar welcomes Florenza Deniz Incirli - a London and Cyprus based artist and researcher working primarily with moving-image and textual based works engaging with memory, non-linear temporality and ritual performances.

In 2024 Florenza, together with Ibrahim Ince, founded Critical Coffee Reading, which is a reading and research group. They organise monthly virtual reading sessions, where researchers from across the world sip fortune coffee and discuss what it means to write and read Cyprus, and other coffee-reading geographies. Alongside reading sessions, they have recently begun programming a Crit Café for emerging researchers and artists to connect and provide meaningful, critical feedback on one another's work, alongside in-person public programming in Cyprus and the UK.

On the 26thh of January, we will be hosting Florenza who will lead an open discussion on collaborative and horizontal pedagogical practices, and how to cultivate and retain politically motivated, interdisciplinary relationships outside of institutional frameworks. The event will be structured with a collective reading, discussion and multimodal presentation. Come join us and let’s learn together!
