ABOUT MONICA

Monica Hsueh (pronounced ‘Shay’) is an award‑nominated comedian, writer, and actor known for sharp wit and fearless storytelling.

Moving from Taiwan to the UK at 13, she discovered laughter as the bridge between cultures - a discovery that evolved from an open‑mic dare into a dynamic stage presence defined by bold bravado, self‑deprecation, and witty jokes.

Monica has performed at top venues across the UK, from The Bill Murray Angel to The Comedy Store, and her viral Strong Woman sketch series has amassed millions of views online. A finalist in British Comedian of the Year, Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian and semi-finalist at BBC New Comedy Awards 2025, she also appears in Netflix, AppleTV, Disney+ and cinema productions, and champions diverse voices in comedy.
