About Houseplant
Formed during the isolation of 2020, Houseplant has steadily evolved into a genre-fluid band rooted in Louisville, Kentucky, blending improvisation, indie-rock storytelling, lush psychedelic soundscapes, and groove-driven rhythm. The band’s music lives at the intersection of structure and exploration—balancing emotionally resonant songwriting with an open-ended, collaborative approach to performance.
While the early years saw Houseplant cultivating a grassroots following, 2025 marks a clear turning point in the band’s trajectory. The additions of Ben Atkind (formerly of Goose), Chris “Roadie” Rodahaffer, and the official onboarding of Sam Richardson—who began performing with the band in late 2024—have brought new energy and cohesion to the group’s sound. Built on the creative foundation laid by founding members Tavis Conley and Tommy Arnspiger, these lineup shifts have deepened the band’s improvisational instincts and sharpened their musical identity.
About Low Spark
Low Spark is not a traffic cover band, although they love them too. Formed in the early 2010’s by way of house parties, underground shows around the Chicagoland area they really started cutting their teeth by becoming the resident band at Chicago music lovers favorite bar, aliveOne. Over the course of playing for 3 hours every Thursday for 5 years, the Sparks really started flying. With a mutual love for relentlessly grooving, high energy music, they developed a language together that is unique and singular. Justin Canavan’s dialed and emotive guitar playing absolutely soars, Jae Gentiles bass both glues everything while providing tons of reactive movement and foundation. Doug Ferdinands keys and synths provide a depth and touch that is both sensitive while totally driving, and Collin O’Briens drums blaze through the jazz laden fusion grooves with power and relentless energy.
In the years post residency they all dropped into some fun projects: Justin plays with Jamila Woods, Jae with Liquid Brass Ensemble, Collin with Neal Francis, Doug with tons of artists in the Chicagoland area. Low Spark really opened the door to everyone's musical career.

Garcia's is fully ADA compliant featuring wheelchair lifts and ramps between the various levels of the venue, assisted listening devices upon request, and allows official service animals. Premium Table seating is located closest to the stage offering the most intimate music experience for guests and includes table service. Reserved Table seating is located on our main floor, behind the Premium section, and also includes table service. Both Premium and Reserved table seating is cabaret style which means you may be sitting with other fans. Private Booths are available and depending on the booth seats 1 to 4, 5, or 6 guests. General Admission/Standing Room is located around the sides of the room on an elevated level for quality viewing and easy bar access.
