We're starting the New Year 2025 with a fabulous group of "top shelf" musicians, THE JOSH RAWLINGS TRIO with Special Guests, CLIFF COLON & ISABELLA DU GRAF!
The JRT Is comprised of veteran players, JOSH RAWLINGS (Keys), NATE OMDAL (Bass), & ADAM KESSLER (Drums). They've been playing together as the JRT since they first met and formed the group at Cornish College of the Arts, over twenty years ago! Their history and chemisrty together is exponentially tight; so tight that they were the invited sidemen with Chicago Sax Legend, Frank Catalano when he brought down the roof in 2024! That performance with Catalano, meeting his monster sax-playing every step of the way earned them their own show now in 2025.
Joining the JRT will be special guests, Seattle's CLIFF COLON (Sax) and ISABELLA DU GRAF (Vocals). Trust me - you don't want to miss this show!
THE JOSH TRAWLINGS TRIO - Whether playing Jazz grooves, swinging the Blues or rocking out to classic Pop tunes, the Josh Rawlings Trio puts a whole lot of soul into every note.
The JRT got its humble beginnings when bassist Nate Omdal, drummer Adam Kessler and I met at Cornish College of the Arts in 2001. They have been performing together for nearly 2 decades and their intuitive and heart-felt playing is very palpable at their shows.
The band has a rich history and eclectic repertoire that shows the versatility and depth of their seasoned musicianship. Considered one of the Northwest regions’ prized Jazz Trio’s and working rhythm sections. They've accompanied some of the top local vocalists in the region and have entertained countless events including performances for the Mayor of Seattle, the State Governor of Washington, Amazon, Microsoft, Bill Gates Foundation, Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, Boeing, Vulcan and more.
The JRT has release 2 albums since graduating from Cornish in 2005. They released their debut album 'Climbing Stairs' in 2008 and sophomore album ‘Swell' in 2016.
The JRT brings passionate energy and musical chemistry to each and every song they play. Together they specialize in captivating and genuine performances reminiscent of Trios by the likes of Oscar Peterson, Gene Harris, and Bill Evans. Nate, Adam and Josh love creating joyous and in-the-moment music for their audiences no matter the venue or occasion. They pride themselves with carrying the tradition the Trio while being modern-day Live Music messengers!
CLIFF COLON (Saxophone)- Rooted in the dynamic music scene of greater Seattle, Colón's journey began in Tacoma, Washington, where his fervor for jazz took flight. Early on, his musical roots intertwined with gospel and soul, shaping his distinct style. In his 20s, he became a fixture in Seattle's jazz and fusion scene, later expanding his repertoire to include R&B and 1970s funk, enriching his musical palette.
Today, Colón is celebrated as a versatile musician, excelling as a band leader, studio recording artist, and producer. He's known for his collaborations with top local bands across genres spanning jazz, R&B, funk, gospel, pop, and blues. Leading his own projects like Jazz Overhaul, Boss Tenors, and Contraband, he also shines as a featured soloist in the prog fusion group, Velocity, and with D'Vonne Lewis' NW D'Lux.
ISABELLA DU GRAF (Vocalist) - Singer Isabella Du Graf is a talent as rare as her record collection, a crate-digger and beatmaker with a degree in jazz performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Since graduating, she’s been busy honing her chops as a songwriter and producer, releasing a full-length album (“Love, Love? Love”) in 2018 and performing with the likes of Kassa Overall, Burniss Earl Travis and Julius Rodriguez. A Seattle native, Du Graf is “a spoonful of the outstanding talent coming out of the Pacific Northwest” raved Wynton Marsalis.
