About this Event
Beerthoven's annual holiday tradition returns featuring the Tinsel Singers on the front steps of the Neill-Cochran House Museum for a concert of carols, cocoa, and a cup of good beer.
Beerthoven is proud to partner once again with the Tinsel Singers! Tinsel is not your average group of Christmas carolers. Within Tinsel's roster of professional singers are Grammy®-winners and classically-trained vocalists, entertaining audiences with style and distinction. From classical to contemporary, Tinsel arrangements of holiday favorites are bright and innovative, while respecting tradition and cherished memories.
While the live music is performed we will be serving hot cocoa as well as warm pastries and cold beer generously provided by Easy Tiger and Lazarus Brewing--at no additional cost! All attendees will also be allowed one free visit to the Neill-Cochran House Museum's exhibits (voucher to be used at a different time than that of the performance, as the performance takes place after museum hours). No need to bring chairs; we'll have everything set up so come as you are!
Beerthoven events are family-friendly; kids are welcome! Student tickets are available for $10 at the door. To purchase student tickets in advance of the concert, email [email protected] with your request. Children 3 and under may attend at no charge.
For this special Christmastime event, the performance will run for 1 hour with no intermission. Drinks and snacks will be served freely throughout.
Dating back to 1856, the Neill-Cochran House is one of the ten oldest buildings in Austin. Its columned, Greek facade and rough, brick exterior is an historic and ideal setting for Beerthoven's mix of refinement and approachability.
This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department.

About Beerthoven:
The critically-acclaimed Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song, chamber music, and beer; a quirky mixture of Bach and Doppelbock in unique and intimate settings. Beerthoven finds its inspiration in the musical and festive events of the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private "salon" concerts of Beethoven's time. Beerthoven events feature live classical music, free beer, and other refreshments and snacks in an all-inclusive manner. There is no backstage here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers.
Programming is intentionally diverse in tone, instrumentation, and featured performers. Beerthoven supports local artists by offering fair compensation and unique performance venues. Audience members will find our prices at the very low end of typical classical concerts--especially for students and especially given the high quality of the exbeerience.
