HOPE IN EVERY THREAD: CLOTHING THE FUTURE OF ST. CATHARINES' CHILDREN
Apr 1, 2025 | 1769 Gregory Rd, St. Catharines, ON L2R 6P9
A Community Initiative to Provide Warmth & Dignity for Homeless Youth
THE VISION
In St. Catharines, no child should suffer the cold without protection. Hope in Every Thread is more than a clothing drive—it’s a movement to ensure every vulnerable child has access to warm, dignified clothing. By 2026, we aim to establish a sustainable clothing resource hub, providing coats, shoes, and essential wear to at-risk children and youth aged 6–17.
THE WHY
- 1 in 5 children in Ontario lives below the poverty line.
- Hundreds of youth in the Niagara Region lack access to proper clothing.
- A single warm coat can mean the difference between illness and safety.
Your contributions change lives.
EVENT STRUCTURE
(A Non-Traditional Fundraiser)
1. THE THREAD CONNECTION (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Experience the Need: Walk through an interactive installation depicting the realities of clothing insecurity.
- Meet the Change-Makers: Hear from social workers and youth advocates about real-life struggles and solutions.
2. THE WARMTH PLEDGE CEREMONY (1:00 PM – 2:30 PM)
- Live Commitments: Local businesses and donors publicly announce support (e.g., "The Johnson Family pledges 500 coats").

3. STORIES IN STITCHES (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

- Community Quilt Project: Attendees contribute fabric pieces with messages of hope to create a giant quilt.
YOUR ROLE IN THIS LEGACY
Every contribution makes a difference. When you donate, you’re not just giving clothing—you’re giving confidence, warmth, and dignity. As an Anchor Donor, you ensure 50 children receive full winter clothing sets, securing their safety during harsh seasons. Community Builders provide seasonal footwear to 100 youth, giving them the comfort and protection they need. Hope Ambassadors offer essential clothing kits, ensuring children have daily necessities to thrive.
Your generosity doesn’t go unnoticed. Anchor Donors will see their names engraved on the “Wall of Warmth” as a permanent tribute to their impact. Community Builders will be recognized in our annual impact reports, showcasing their commitment to change. Hope Ambassadors will receive social media spotlights, amplifying their role in making a tangible difference.
TRANSPARENCY PROMISE
- Real-Time Tracking: Donors receive a secure login to monitor distribution progress.
- Third-Party Audits: Annual financial reviews published by PEDRO MAIA.
- 100% Local Sourcing: Clothing materials purchased from Niagara-region businesses.
