About this Event
'At The Corner of Community & Allyship' with Stephanie Vail
Stephanie Vail (she/her) is a Community Health Worker with Quest Community Health Centre’s Rainbow Niagara 2SLGBTQ+ Services where she has been working for 14 years. Prior to her work at Quest, she worked in the helping field with folks who have experienced gender-based violence, those impacted by eating disorders, and homeless youth. Stephanie is a graduate of George Brown College’s Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate program and also completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2021. She is a huge lover of nature, connection, and her cats Winnie and Shay.
In this session we’ll explore Quest’s Rainbow Niagara 2SLGBTQ+ Services and focus on allyship including awareness and ways to support the sexual and gender diverse communities.
This series is an extension of our crew mission of making running inclusive and approachable. Space will be limited, and the environment will be intimate and casual. We are partnering once again with Kintec Footwear and Orthotics, lululemon Pen Centre, and our friends at Brindle Cafe, who recently opened a phenomenal space downtown. Lululemon has generously donated some incredible prize packages, which will be raffled off at the conclusion of the evening.
Enjoy some delicious food and drinks as well as time with friends as we expand our knowledge and connect with our community. Beyond offering an incredible space for the evening, Brindle Cafe offers an extensive array of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including full coffee service and a delicious menu, including plant-based options.
100% of the money collected will be directed to Quest’s Rainbow Niagara 2SLGBTQ+ Services, as selected by our speaker.
Quest’s Rainbow Niagara 2SLGBTQ+ Services address the gap in health and social services that are tailored to the unique needs and barriers experienced by sexually and gender diverse populations. Quest has been addressing this health equity issue since their inception in 2010.
It is bigger than the run.
Let’s learn together.
The Corners is a 2SLGBTQ+, BIPOC, Body-positive safe space.
