About this Event
"Grief is the awakening. Grief is life stirring towards itself." Stephen Jenkinson
You are invited to join our Grief Tending Ceremony to take care of your wild and precious heart.
We offer this space to come together to honour our grief in the warm and loving arms of community. A place to share with and witness one another; welcoming our sorrow, our love, our pain, and our gratitude.
Through gentle somatic rituals, shared reflections, and moments of silence and singing, we will tend to our sorrow, release some of the weight we carry, and welcome healing and integration.
You are not alone. This is a space for you to feel held, supported, and seen. Your grief is valid. Your story matters.
We ask you to bring an open heart and, if you feel comfortable, a small item that symbolises your journey—a photo, a flower, or anything meaningful to you.
This ceremony is offered with deep compassion and respect. Everything offered is an invitation, never compulsory. You are welcome to sit in silence, to lie down and relax if you so wish. There is no pressure to speak or share. Your own self-care takes priority.
The arc of the day will begin with building the group container with some grounding and nourishing somatic practices, then move into evoking and expressing grief, followed by soothing and integration. We will end together with a warming meal.
There will be a maximum of 12 people for this ceremony (plus Erika and Amélie).

About Erika Tourell
Erika has been working in the field of well-being for over three decades; as a trauma-informed somatic therapist & coach, yoga & meditation teacher, tantra practitioner, ritualist and circle holder. Erika's passion for grief tending and ceremony comes from a strong desire to heal her own personal complex childhood trauma, ancestral, and collective cultural trauma. She has been greatly helped and inspired by many indigenous wisdom keepers and healers, sitting in plant medicine ceremonies for over twenty years which has helped her greatly to reawaken an intimate connection with nature, the elements, and the other-than-human world. Learning from other traditions, unbroken lineages and teachers, Erika has been able to re-member and re-imagine some of her own ancestral practices of gathering together to lament our sorrows, and to celebrate our aliveness through the offering of presence, prayers, song and dance.
About Amélie Thévenet
Amélie is a pychic healer and therapist working with presence, tuning into the quantum information field, her intuition, Bach flowers and drumming. She particularly focuses on bringing people back to their emotions and bodies so that they can bring movement back into their life when they feel stuck. Drawing some pratices from the shamanic tradition, she holds regular women drumming circles in London. Amélie is a space healer and does house and space energetic cleansing, working with the energy of a space and its inhabitants for better rest, sleep and feeling truly "at home", especially after life events like divorce or bereavement.
