About this Event
Love honey? Fascinated by bees and their lifecycle? Join us for a one-hour tour of our working honey farm in Bowral!
You'll hear about the remarkable lives of these at-risk pollinators, see how a Flow Hive works and then finish off with a guided honey tasting. This is a great activity for family groups or those visiting the Southern Highlands.
You'll join our beekeeper for a tour alongside the hives: wearing a head veil, you'll be able to safely observe the activities of the bees and hear about their remarkable lifecycle. The talk continues with a demonstration showing a modern hive, in our teaching area.
We then move out to our terrace, looking out across the lake for a guided honey tasting and morning tea with leaf tea and plunger coffee and freshly baked sourdough to complement the various honeys. We feature local raw honeys from different floral sources, each with it's own distinctive appearance, aroma, viscosity, mouth texture and taste.
Our apiary is on the grounds of Retford Park, a beautiful historic property a 5x minute drive from Bowral main street. We also have honey available after the visit.
