The Bard School: Prehistoric Pictographs
As part of our Home Education offer, we welcome storyteller Dawn Nelson with The Bard School, as our tutor for this special hands-on workshop.
During each workshop, we will explore a new history theme, bringing the past to life through interactive experiences.
Our workshops are aimed at children aged 9 + years, with an accompanying adult supporting their children where needed.

Explore our Prehistoric Pictographs workshop
Join us for the first of five workshops for home educators, that explore storytelling through time.
In this first workshop we explore the pictographs of the past and discover the world of cave art and how we developed pictorial storytelling from stick man hunting scenes to the world of manga.
Within this workshop participants will have the opportunity to design their own ancient pictograph.

About the Tutor
Dawn Nelson lives within the beautiful South Downs. The focus of her work is Celtic, British and Scandinavian mythology, although many other traditions also inform her practice. Through storytelling she hopes to encourage a reconnection to our natural selves, through the lessons present within stories, folklore, nature and the landscapes they inhabit. She has worked with multiple museums, heritage sites, community organisations and charities across the South of England.

Important Information
The workshop will take place from 10am to 12.30pm.
Each session will have a maximum of 15 children participating.
Children require an accompanying adult to stay with them; an adult can accompany up to three children.
At the end of the workshop, you are welcome to stay and explore the rest of the Museum at your leisure.

Costs
£15.00 per child (9+ years)
£5.00 for one accompanying adult (maximum one adult per child)
Free Carer ticket for one adult to accompany a child with disabilities
Please note: This additional learning experiences is not included in our Museum membership offer.
