Home Education Bird of Prey & Animal Workshops – April 17th, 24th, May 1st & 8th 9.30 – 11.30Join us this spring for our Home Education Bird of Prey & Animal Workshops, running across four exciting weeks at the farm.
Over the four weeks, home educated children will take part in hands-on, engaging workshops with our birds of prey and animals. Guided by our experienced falconers and animal keepers, these sessions are designed to combine practical experience with meaningful learning in a fun and supportive environment.
April 17th – Spring on the Farm
Spring is a wonderful time on the farm as new life arrives. During this session, pupils will have the opportunity to meet and feed our beautiful Spring lambs, meet and feed our goats, alpacas, donkeys and pigs, enjoy a goat walk around the farm and learn how we feed and care for our farm animals.
A fantastic opportunity to explore animal care and life cycles first-hand.
April 24th – British Birds of Prey
Discover the fascinating world of British raptors. Pupils will learn about conservation and understand their habitats, adaptations and role in the ecosystem. Pupils will have the opportunity to meet, handle and fly some different species of our native raptors including the Barn Owl, Kestrel and Tawny Owl.
May 1st – Exotics
Explore some of the more unusual animals we house at the farm. Pupils will meet Nelly our Skunk, meet and handle different species of reptiles and creepy crawlies and learn about specialist housing, heating and diet requirements.
May 8th – Flight School: Birds of Prey
A truly memorable session bringing pupils up close to a range of raptors including owls, hawks, eagles and falcons.
Children will learn about adaptations, food chains and conservation and will then be given the opportunity to meet, handle and fly some different species.
These workshops are tailored specifically for home educated children, offering interactive, educational experiences in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
