With the Mass celebrated on the evening of Holy Thursday, the Church begins the sacred Easter Triduum and devotes herself to the remembrance of the Last Supper. On the night He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus offered His Body and Blood to the Father under the appearance of bread and wine, giving them to the apostles and enjoining them and their successors in the priesthood to offer them in turn.This Mass is, first of all, the memorial of the institution of the Eucharist—the Lord's Passover—by which he perpetuated the sacrifice of the New Law through sacramental signs. The Mass of the Lord's Supper also commemorates the institution of the priesthood, through which Christ's mission and sacrifice continue in the world. Finally, this Mass serves as a memorial of the profound love by which the Lord loved us even unto death.
Join us this Maundy Thursday for Mass of Our Lord's Supper and stay for Adoration of Our Lord at His altar of repose. Adoration is until 10 PM.
