Austin Artist Chris Evans is hosting an album release party for his first-ever EP “Happier Before” on Jan. 16 at The Cathedral (located at 2403 East 16th Street Austin Texas 78702) from 7 - 9 p.m. that evening. After playing the new EP Evans will host a Q&A about the creation of the album then do a stripped-down live set including a handful of songs off “Happier Before” for attendees. Each track off the new EP serves as a reflection on life love loss personal growth and the bittersweet journey of self-discovery. Evans’ own experience with mental health addiction and complicated family dynamics have heavily influenced his sound which is a masterful blend of soulful ambient psychedelic Americana. Evans plans to drop his debut EP under his stage name Holy Islands the following day on Jan. 17 2025.
