About this Event
Breath and Sound are powerful tools for self-exploration, transformation and healing. Our breath is intimately connected to our “life essence”, our energy and our spirit. Working with breath and sound can support a shift in energetic and psychological states in order to bring a greater sense of coherence, wholeness and harmony.
Your Holo-Sonic Breathwork journey will follow a sequence of steps:
- After a brief introduction, we will tune in to our intentions
- Sounding and toning will begin vibrational opening in the body and psyche
- Your journey will continue into Breathwork and an evocative musical soundscape
- We will transition into a rich soundscape of singing bowls, gongs and other sound healing instruments to help clear, open and balance the vibrational field of body, mind and spirit.
- Your journey will complete with a closing circle and time for integration.
WHAT TO BRING - Please make sure to bring your own yoga mat or blanket to lie down on and a water bottle. Additional items that can be helpful to support your comfort are an extra blanket, a pillow and an eye covering.
HOW TO PREPARE - It’s best to practice Breathwork on either an empty stomach or having eaten very little. It’s also a good idea to allow for time after your workshop experience for self-care. Many people find that it’s supportive to plan an uneventful and quieter evening for rest, reflection and self-nurturing in order to support their integration.
IMPORTANT!! - DOORS OPEN AT 12:30 PM - PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ARRIVE BEFORE 1:00 PM so that you can get settled before the event begins at 1:00 PM. The doors will close promptly at 1:00 pm in order to begin the workshop.
BIO:
Loriel Starr brings a multi-faceted approach to her work in the healing arts. Loriel was certified as a Grof Holotropic Breathwork facilitator in 2003. She has facilitated the exploration of expanded states for over 20 years through her private practice, public workshops and as part of the Grof Transpersonal Training. In addition, she is a guide of psycho-spiritual journey work and offers support for psychedelic integration as well as psychedelic microdosing.
Loriel is a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies “Sound, Voice and Music in the Healing Arts Program (2008) and has studied with many luminaries in the field of sound healing. She is one of Northern California’s premier sound bath facilitators and has been producing and leading sound bath events for over 12 years. “The Alchemy Gong Bath”, “Sound Healing Sanctuary” and “Holo-Sonic Breathwork” are some of her regular offerings in the San Francisco Bay Area and she performs as part of “The Sound Healing Symphony” at Grace Cathedral. Loriel is dedicated to exploring the medicinal value of sound as a form of meditation, mysticism and deep healing.
In addition, Loriel is trained in trauma healing as a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner SEP and teaches meditation as an advanced Level III iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher.
