A bit of a lark in the park or rather a very sedate walk through some interesting history stepping into the Design Museum. We'll start at The Castle pub near the station, have a look at some of the shops in the Avenue and then walk to the park. The Avenue was once called the Uxbridge Road all the way east to the Tyburn hanging tree but a lot has changed since then and the area is now rather expensive and out of the reach of most so we'll just enjoy our visit.
Holland House has had some interesting occupants who we will hear about, notably Charles James Fox. Let's see what there is now and provided the weather is still good relax in the park a little before going to the Design Museum.
Afterwards there is sure to be somewhere good to park ourselves for a snack and a chat - the last time we visited a very good Phillipino Restaurant.
