Holland Bike Park Groundbreaking Ceremony

The City of Holland, in partnership with Velo Kids and other community supporters, will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Holland Bike Park on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at 97 N. River Ave., just north of the Unity Bridge.
The event will mark the start of construction on a new community-focused outdoor recreation space designed for riders of all ages and abilities. The future Holland Bike Park will connect directly to the Macatawa Greenway and Holland’s broader trail system, linking neighborhoods, Downtown Holland, waterfront destinations, and nearby parks. By nature of its location, the park will act as a central hub for current and future bikers to practice and improve their skills, without having to venture far from existing bike infrastructure.
Before the ceremony, Velo Kids will host a casual half-mile community bike ride beginning at 1:30 p.m. from The Wheelhouse at the Holland Ice Park in Downtown Holland. Participants who chose to participate will ride together to the groundbreaking site to celebrate the project and its connection to the city’s growing biking network.
Community members who chose to attend the Holland Bike Park Groundbreaking Ceremony should plan to wear comfortable footwear and plan in advance for parking as the ceremony site is located a minimum of a quarter mile from existing parking lots.
