Denver has been known as the "Christmas city" for the past 60 years.
We will be taking you on an historic journey through Denver, set to the backdrop of the most beautiful holiday lights in the downtown area. Take this enjoyable walking tour, with your friends and family. As the center of Denver's Holiday Lights Display, we will be stopping at the breathtaking, City and County Building. You will love stopping at the Christkindl German Market for some hot chocolate, a giant pretzel, or roasted almonds, while thousands of Holiday Lights twinkle in the background. As you stroll through this tour, you will hear stories of old Denver. We also make a stop at the beautiful Brown Palace Hotel. This walking tour ends at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which is located in the heart of the city, on the 16th Street Mall.
Note: this is not a round trip tour. You can return to the start on foot, the 16th Street Mall Shuttle (with an additional short walk). a Lyft or an Uber are always recommended After the tour, you will be able to spend time shopping on the 16th Street Mall. Stops include:
- The Denver Art Museum
- The Byers-Evans Mansion
- The City and County Building (the center place for holiday lights in Denver)
- Civic Center Park
- Colorado State Capitol (we don't go to the steps, but discuss interesting facts, from Civic Center Park).
- The Mile High Tree (The Large Animated Holiday Tree)
- Christkindle German Market (we will spend aprox15 minutes here, for a chance to grab some snacks)
- The Denver Mint
- Curry-Chucovich house
- The Brown Palace Hotel
- Denver Pavilions
- 16th Street Mall
- Tour Ends at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
This is a walking tour, that covers approximately. 1.3 miles. It is not a round trip tour; however, you can easily get back to the starting location by hoping on the free 16th Street Mall bus, combined with a short walk from the last bus stop, or you can just walk back.
Prepare for you event: Because of the downtown location of this tour, restrooms are difficult to find, along the route. Please take the necessary provisions, before coming onto the tour. It is only 1.5 hours long. Please pay close attention to the weather conditions, and dress with the appropriate attire (hats, gloves, coats, etc.)This a rain, snow or shine tour. We do not offer refunds or rainchecks, due to weather conditions. Everyone will enjoy the tour, if you dress for the current weather conditions.
Please allow for additional time to park, and find the starting location.
Note: this is not a round trip tour. We recommend taking an Uber or Lyft to and from the tour, for the best possible experience. If you decided to drive, you can park at the parking garage, located at the Denver Art Museum. It is located at 12th and Broadway, just past the Art Hotel. Please arrive 5 minutes early. We can not hold tours for latecomers.
