We weren't meant to mother alone.Why-
The current paradigm of motherhood does not serve Mums
The idea that we can have it all and that we are supposed to be able to mother like we don’t have personal needs or paid work, and work or take care of ourselves as if we are not a mother, all while looking fantastic and making it all look effortless, is harming us as individuals and as a society.
Mothers and their work deserve great reverence, we are the backbone of families, of society, the very success of the economy lies in the fact that mothers are the most overworked and underpaid members of society, yet are the least appreciated and cared for.
What-
We fight against this paradigm and create a shift by building community, celebrating mothers, their rites of passage & the importance of their work
It’s ugly, raw, real, and building proper community where we can be honest and not feel alone in our experience of motherhood
Begin with gentle movement, introduce the theme for the month, and tap into what this theme brings up through a guided meditation, we then have time to journal before opening up to discuss and explore the theme as a group (usually based around the hidden emotions of motherhood).
Together we create a space where we all feel held, heard, seen and valued.
Who-
All Mums at any stage of Mothering, intergenerational community is encouraged.
Mums who are irritated by the paradigm of motherhood that is abundant in today’s society
Mums who are desiring deep connection with a community of Mums who are ready and willing to be vulnerable together, and to hold each other in the full spectrum of experiences, emotions and desires.
Babes in arms welcome, otherwise child free
Where & When-
In person, in my living room at home, Latrobe Tas.
The second Sunday of each month (mostly- sometimes there are exceptions, see dates below)
9 -11 am.
Commitment to at least three circles is required in order to build safety, connection and commitment.
New members are invited to join every three months.
