Jodhi Gough from Collective Therapy Hub (The HUB) welcomes you to come and learn more about brain injury from Dane McCormack, who was born and raised in Latrobe. Dane escaped to the mainland to pursue his career and has worked on the factory floor, gaining a trade certificate in Precision Manufacture, and also in the boardrooms of multinational firms developing Business Strategies.
Dane contracted his acquired brain injury while he was in hospital for 12 months battling cancer, when bacteria from a surgical wound infiltrated his brain, causing encephalitis.
Dan will explain how he deals with impairments from the brain injury, including, severe mental fatigue, sensitivity to noise, and long and short-term memory loss. Dane will also explain different types of brain injuries and some common impairments.
