Bent Horseshoe Presents Hobnail on Saturday 23rd of May at the Hokowhitu Bowling Club at 7.30 at a cost of $30.
Hobnail have been playing for us for as long as we have been running gigs and thats a long time now.
This time they will be playing as a 3 piece which is something they have been doing for a while.
Rob always has a few new songs to present as well as plenty of old favourites and a ably supported by Jo on fiddle and Hamish on Guitar.
Jo of course takes the lead for a lot of the songs as does Hamish.
Hobnail formed in 1994 with little ambition beyond playing a few shows and drinking a few beers. 32 years later and they have travelled from Porirua to Pittsburgh, New Plymouth to Norfolk Island, Auckland to Amsterdam, Germany to Gore, the Canadian Prairies to the Canterbury Plains. They have released 8 studio albums and a “Best Of” collection, played over 1,000 shows and made at least 100 trips across Cook Strait. There have been hundreds of flights, and somewhere north of 250,000 km’s in the tour van. They are 3 time finalists at the NZ Music Awards. In 2025 Hobnail released their 8th album “Three Part” and toured throughout New Zealand. They don’t plan to slow down any time soon.
