Presented by Dr Stephen Hutchinson
About this Event
Join us for an educational dinner focused on the management of
knee pain in general practice.
Knee pain presents across all age groups- from acute sporting
injuries to progressive degenerative disease- and remains a
frequent and sometimes challenging presentation in primary care.
This session, led by Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Stephen
Hutchinson, will explore the continuum of knee conditions,
providing practical, evidence-based guidance to support GPs in
both early management and timely referral.
Learning outcomes
1. Assess and manage common sports-related knee injuries,
including ligament and meniscal pathology
2. Apply evidence-based approaches to osteoarthritis and
degenerative knee conditions
3. Identify which patients benefit from conservative
management vs surgical intervention
4. Understand indications and timing for procedures ranging
from arthroscopy to total knee arthroplasty
5. Optimise imaging decisions and reduce unnecessary
investigations
