About the Class
How to use movement to your advantage within the scope of a rope scene, through the lens of a contemporary dancer.
This is a task based workshop exploring how rope can help or hinder movement in your rope scene, informed by contemporary improvisational dance techniques. In this class, participants will discover how body handling, physical manipulation, intentional touch, and body to body contact can facilitate deeper connection and smoother scene setting within your rope practice.
While all levels of rope and dance experience are welcome, please note that there will be very little explicit instruction on how to tie specific frictions or patterns. This class is meant to expand and inform your existing rope and/or movement practice.
About Your Facilitator
In March of 2018 Sydona found her way into the NYC kink scene and has since immersed herself into honing her rope practice, perhaps obsessively. She currently works full time as a nightlife performer, bondage artist, and creator. Previous to 2020, Syd trained and worked as a professional modern and contemporary dancer, and is proud of the way she melds her thirteen odd years of experience as a movement artist into her current practice. She considers her style of tying to be sensual, flirty, and delightfully sadistic.
