🇫🇴 Uppliv føroyska komikaran David Valley við hansara skemtisýning “History of the Faroe Islands (Please Don’t Laugh)”
Tú kennir føroysku søguna.
Vikingar, Kirkjubøur, einaveldi, handilsmonopol og ríkisfelagsskapur. So royndu vit nakað í 1946, og tað bleiv eitt sindur fløkt.
Ja. Estlandi. Tað hevði verið eitt sindur pínligt, um hon ikki selur út í Føroyum eisini.

Hetta er ein lítil, men álvarslig roynd at fáa fólk at leggja merki til Føroyar. At fáa tey at lurta eitt sindur longri. At fáa tey at gerast eitt sindur meira forvitin. Og kanska at fáa tey at taka okkum eitt sindur í álvara.
Ein stór framløga um eitt lítið land, sum ikki er á øllum kortum.
Kom og hoyr søguna eina ferð enn.
Vinaliga, ikki flenn.
Hurðar lata upp kl. 19:30
Sýningin er á enskum.

Experience Faroese comedian David Valley with his comedy show “History of the Faroe Islands (Please Don’t Laugh)” at the theater in Tórshavn
You are maybe living in the Faroe Islands, or visiting. You may be wondering where exactly you have landed.
You probably know it began with Vikings and ended up with Denmark. The middle part tends to get skipped.
Are you ready to hear the rest? Somewhat organised. In English. With PowerPoint. Some music. And possibly something that involves the audience.
David Valley walks through Faroese history and spends an unnecessary amount of time on the details. Along the way, various topics about the Faroe Islands come up that he feels like talking about. It is 100% academic and almost belongs in a book somewhere. Don’t worry. It is more boring than it sounds.
The show has sold out in Iceland, Denmark and Estonia. Yes. Estonia. It would be slightly embarrassing if it does not sell out in the Faroe Islands as well.

This is a small but serious attempt to make people notice the Faroe Islands. To make them curious. To help them learn a thing or two. And perhaps to make them care.
A large presentation about a small country that does not appear on all maps.
The only show about Faroese history in the whole world.
Please, don’t laugh.
Doors open at 19:30
The show is in English.
