About this Event

Hip-Hop Soundbath is a monthly meditation & sound healing experience led by Born I - an artist and mindfulness teacher whose work blends hip-hop, meditation and self-compassion. Now entering its fourth year at Eaton DC, this gathering features a guided meditation, a crystal singing bowl sound bath with renowned harpist Kim Sator, and live expressions of peaceful, lofi hip-hop.


No prior experience necessary: You Are Enough.

About Born I:

Born I (Ofosu Jones-Quartey) is a meditation teacher, hip-hop artist, and author whose work sits at the intersection of music, mindfulness, and radical self-compassion. A lifelong meditation practitioner and creative, his work aims to make inner healing accessible to all. His latest projects include the contemplative hip-hop album Komorebi and his book Lyrical Dharma: Hip-Hop as Mindfulness (Parallax Press). Across retreats, performances, and community gatherings, Born I supports people in remembering their inherent worth and living with presence and courage.

About Harpist Kim Sator:

Kim Sator is a lifelong contributor to the DC Metropolitan Area’s artist community. This native Washingtonian got her musical foundation in the DCPS and DC Youth Orchestra Program. A graduate of Howard University School of Fine Arts, her artistry transcends the confines of genre weaving her musical ideas into jazz, gospel, alt-rock, and contemporary music. Solo or with an ensemble, she finds joy in creating.
