Cooperb are proud to announce our attendance at the Himalayan Spring Rally hosted by Robert Roalfe! 4th Himalayan Marches Spring Rally
Entries open for the 4th running of Grim's Himalayan Marches Spring Rally (the UK's premier Himalayan event?).
The rally will be based again at Brow Farm Campsite in Ratlinghope, Shropshire in the shadow of the Long Mynd. Starts on Friday 15th May and finishes on Sunday 17th May.
It will follow our established format of meeting up on the Friday, maybe a talk or a band playing on the evening; then spend the Saturday riding the lanes and dales of the Welsh Borders on a variety of navigation routes.
You are free to choose your own route from a selection of checkpoints, either completely on tarmac roads, or including a number of green lanes. There will also be a prewritten Roadbook (including green lanes).
Saturday night more socializing followed by a selection of green lane rides for a couple of hours on the Sunday morning. We aim to have cleared the campsite by mid afternoon.
We have our own separate field at the campsite which includes a toilet and wash block, and a few electrical hookups. At the main campsite (5 mins walk away) there are showers, a small shop and a burger van which will be open for breakfasts and in the evening.
Last year we had a wide range of sponsors and some brilliant raffle prizes (around 100 items). I have already had confirmation of sponsorship from Royal Enfield (who may be bringing a surprise 🫢) and several others. (If anyone knows of anyone who can be persuaded to send us a voucher or a T-shirt let me know! All money raised goes to the Air Ambulance).
So what does this cost? The entry fee has been held at £30 per entrant. This includes two nights camping, a raffle ticket, entry for any navigational ride on the Saturday, and a guided green lane ride on the Sunday. Plus any other benefits I can lay on (included a mound of beer and soft drinks last year, thanks to RE).
What do you need to do to enter? Simply send an email to [email protected] with the following details - name; type of bike (does not have to be RE or a Himalayan!); contact number. Then send the deposit of £15 via PayPal (as a friend!) to [email protected]. (let me know in the email if you cannot do PayPal).
