🐾 Hill Country Canicross – January Meetup 🏃♀️We’re excited to announce our FIRST Hill Country Canicross meetup this January! 🎉
Everyone is welcome! Whether you want to run canicross-style or simply enjoy a relaxed hike with your dog and the group.
This is a casual, welcoming meetup focused on learning, movement, and having fun outdoors with our dogs.
North American Canicross defines canicross as cross-country trail running with dogs, using:
• 1–2 dogs attached to the runner
• A non-restrictive, free-motion harness
• A bungee/elastic line 5–9 ft fully extended
• A hands-free hip belt for the human
• Dogs run in front of or beside the human (never behind)
Canicross equipment is NOT required for this meetup so newcomers can try it out! However, some safety rules do apply.
To protect the welfare of all dogs, the following may not participate:
• Dogs under 12 months old doing excessive or strenuous exercise
• Dogs with any injury, illness, or deformity that could put them at risk
Strictly prohibited:
• Alcohol or illegal substances
• Flexi leashes
• Face leads
• No-pull harnesses
Allowed:
• Muzzles, as long as the dog has enough room to pant comfortably
🐾 NO GREET POLICY
• Dogs must remain leashed and under handler control at all times
• No on-trail or parking-lot greetings with other dogs or humans
