GRADE: Beginners, 18km 11m. 190m ascent 5 hrs hiking time. Through undulating countryside and parkland. Walk finishes approx 16:00.


This spectacular walk through the garden of England is steeped in History.
We pass Tonbridge Castle and follow the Eden Valley through quintessential rolling countryside. Our way leads us to Haysden Country Park and to Penhurst Castle, a large manor house.


The path continues to the National Trust village of Chiddingstone, with a Castle half-timbered houses, large cricket green, dominated by the Church of St Mary.


Leading westward the track takes us past Hever Castle, built in the 13th century, with beautiful Italian gardens and the seat of the Boleyn family. Here is where Henry VIII courted Anne Boleyn. The path is taking us to Hever Station where you are welcome to join us for a drink, a descent way to finish a hike in a traditional pub!


COST: £10 organiser fee payable on RSVP.


MEETING POINT : 08:40 London Bridge station,in front of the main train ticket office.
Alteratively, we can meet us at Tonbrdge train station at 10:00


TRAINS: We will be taking the 09:24 train arriving in Tonbridge at 09:58, journey time 34min.
You can buy on the day group save tickets or with Network Railcard. Ticket to Tonbridge costs approx £7 and from Hever to London costs £8.


WALK STARTS: Tonbridge at 10:00


WALK FINISHES: Approx 16:00 at Hever.


LUNCH: Pack lunch, snacks


Hike leader: Fofi


What to bring: pack lunch, snacks, drink, warm clothes, suitable clothing and hiking footwear.
