Discover the Natural Beauty of Sierra de Guadarrama: Easy Hiking Route from Puerto de Cotos to Laguna Grande
Adventure, love, and friendship await you on our hikes through the Sierra de Guadarrama! We invite you to join this fascinating hiking route from Puerto de Cotos, perfect for meeting new people and marveling at the beauty of nature.
On this approximately 8 km hike, suitable for all levels, you'll discover the impressive biodiversity of the Peñalara Natural Park. We start at Puerto de Cotos and head to the Mirador de la Gitana, a panoramic viewpoint offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Then, we follow the PR-M trail to Laguna Grande, where you can admire the majestic Peñalara cirque.
We continue to the Zabala Refuge, a cozy mountain shelter to rest and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Finally, we return to Puerto de Cotos, where we'll relax and taste delicious local cuisine.
This hike is of low difficulty, so anyone can enjoy it. Don't forget to bring mountain footwear, comfortable clothing, and at least 1.5 liters of water.

It is necessary to bring your lunch and 1.5L of water (minimum). Mountain shoes, comfortable clothes and sunscreen.
▬▬ How we will get there ▬▬
By train: ?we will meet at Moncloa Bus ? station at 09:00 h. to depart at 09:15 h. We will take the bus to Puerto de Navacerrada. Línea 691 (Intercambiador De Moncloa (Nivel -1, Isla 2).
The cost of the ticket is approximately 5,40€ and it is paid at the station. The bus does not accept card payment.
You must bring change of €5 or €10. If you have a young subscription.
The bus trip is free, transport voucher type B2 accepted.
