🌊 Take a step out of time and into some natural rhythms 🌀
Presenting the second in the 2026 series of low tide coastal explorations, Tiranbhran (Land of the Raven) takes place around the rugged coastline of Whiterock, Co. Dublin.
For this lil adventure we'll be meeting on Saturday 21st February at 07:00 on Vico Road, just above Whiterock Beach.
Timing it when the tide is at its lowest, we’ll have an opportunity to explore the rugged coastline. We’ll also be there for sunrise, so hoping for some beautiful morning light.
Along the way I'll be sharing knowledge & stories about the place and encouraging others to do the same- so there’ll be lots of good chats!
En route we might have the opportunity to do some foraging for seaweeds in the intertidal zone, or if not, at least to identify them and learn about some of the wildlife that call this place home.
The hiking element is a mix of easy flat sand, but also lots of scrambling along the rocky coastline where it's more challenging.
We'll finish with a swim (or more likely a dip!) for anyone who wants to brave the icy refreshing Irish sea in early Spring 🥶

- Good footwear, hiking boots ideal or wellies as you'll likely get your feet wet!
- Lots of layers (wrap up warm)
- Some type of rain jacket
- Water
- Snacks for afterwards and/or a packed lunch (recommended)
- Swim gear & towel (optional)
- Hot drink (recommended)
