VO₂ max isn’t optional for women. It measures how much oxygen your body can use during intense exercise, reflecting cardiovascular fitness, mitochondrial function, and overall metabolic health. For women, it’s one of the strongest predictors of longevity.
As oestrogen declines, aerobic capacity becomes harder to maintain. Without targeted training, VO₂ max can fall 5–10% per decade after 30, and up to 15% per decade post-menopause. But this decline isn’t guaranteed. Trained women can sustain high VO₂ max well into their 50s, 60s, and even 70s.
From the brand new Hii Club in Leeds city centre, we'll discuss the importance of VO₂ and have the opportunity to find out how yours is measuring up with some of the latest tech available.
We'll enjoy a private cardio and strength class to get our blood flow going, followed by drinks, nibbles and networking. This class is for all levels, so come ready for a fun afternoon and some empowering me time!
