HG's "Higher Proof" class is a fun, interactive experience with friends to learn about the world of spirits, cocktails, and the culture surrounding them. Learn more about what you love to drink or fall in love with a new one you didn't know existed.Each class focuses on a singular type of spirit and cocktails surrounding it.
The class is led by Jake Gable, who has nearly a decade of cocktail experience in addition to a passion for the culture and history surrounding spirits and libations.
Over ~90 minutes, Jake will go over the process of how Bourbon is made as well as some history, origins, and classifications of this spirit. He will also provide some facts, legends, and a guided tasting of (6) different Bourbons as well as a couple cocktails featuring Bourbon
PLEASE NOTE If you have previously attended our Bourbon Class before: The majority of bourbons being tasted will be different than the original class, but a fair portion of the information during the class will be overlapping. We encourage you to come and enjoy new bourbons and refresh your knowledge (or hear some information you may have missed). If you do not wish to join but had a great time (THANKS!), we would greatly appreciate you passing this information on to friends, family, and fellow bourbon lovers. The more interest we see, the more likely we can do more of these with new spirits and info!
Tickets will include drinks and tastes throughout the class:
- (1) Bourbon cocktail upon entry
- (1) Bourbon cocktail built by you during the class
- (6) Tasting pours (1/4oz. each) of different Bourbons throughout the class
This will be roughly equivalent to about three standard drinks
Attendees of the class will also have the ability to purchase discounted pours of selected bourbons after the class.
This is a ticketed event. The bar will be closed unless you have pre-purchased a ticket.
