Discover the hidden stories of remarkable women connected to Hammersmith & Fulham through our interactive heritage quest that combines historical discovery with fun quest elements.
How it works:
- Meet our host outside IKEA, King Street, Hammersmith for registration and quest briefing
- Receive quest sheet with clues and instructions
- Participate solo or in teams with friends and family
- Your mission: uncover hidden women's history in Hammersmith & Fulham by solving location-based challenges
- Build a secret heritage code by finding clues at historically significant locations
- Try to complete the quest within the time limit (90 minutes)
- Finish at The William Morris Society, Upper Mall on the riverbank for results, code verification and prize presentation
What you'll discover:
Journey through time exploring the stories of trailblazing women — from a ground-breaking mayor and an Indian suffragette, to entertainment pioneers, a beauty pageant that celebrated Black women, a rowing club that defied convention, and an artist whose work was credited to her famous father. This quest reveals the rich and often overlooked women's history woven throughout Hammersmith & Fulham's streets and landmarks.
