About this Event

Come join a day-long gathering of leading authors, journalists and philosophers who challenge the status quo and who seek to transcend in this era of deep polarization. Meghan Daum is a bestselling author and host of The Unspeakable Podcast, Jenara Nerenberg is host of The Neurodiversity Project and bestselling author of , Sheena Mason is an author, professor, podcaster, and creator of the theory of racelessness and the President and Co-Founder of Theory of Racelessness, and Angel Eduardo is a musician, editorial director and podcast host at FAIR (Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism).

This event brings folks from the Bay Area and beyond to shed and ground, network and build friendships. With her groundbreaking theory, Dr. Mason helps people free themselves from race(ism) and truly live up to their "antiracist" inclinations with her groundbreaking theory of racelessness, an imaginative framework for teaching, analyzing, studying, speaking about, and resolving race and racism. Angel Eduardo's powerful Newsweek columns push people of all walks of life to get rooted in themselves, away from whatever terminology rules the day. In her books as well as in her weekly podcast, Meghan Daum is known for bringing nuance and unflinching honesty to complex topics, including issues around social class, cultural appropriation, and the new gender movement. And Jenara's pioneering work in cognitive futures with the UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center, Garrison Institute, Aspen Institute and elsewhere have long challenged social norms and delighted the Bay Area with events and collaborations with Gabor Mate, Pico Iyer, Sundance's Kamal Sinclair, and many others.

This will be a tight-knit event and attendance is limited. Come gather for the day or make a weekend out of it, and our goal is to continue conversations elsewhere after the event, online together, so be sure to grab your spot early. If you're interested in sharing a related service, book, initiative or program, booths are available for a small fee -- please contact the organizers at [email protected].
