About this Event
Mayfair - what a glitzy area. Full of designer shops and posh hotels..... a real hit with the Americans who came and lived her back in the early part of the 20th century but I delve deep into the lives of the women who lived there. The New Yorker who opened up a Jazz club and taught Queen Elizabeth to do the charleston. The place formely known as Portugual street which paid tribute to a Portuguese Queen and her love of tea, a famous crime writer who went cap in hand in the 1920s and begged a publishers to print her first book. The area is postively teeming with women who have made an impact on today's society and yet we don't always know their names. Let's walk together around this beautiful area on Sunday 12th July.
