✨ NEW CLASS ANNOUNCEMENT! ✨April 8, 15, 22 & 29
2:00–4:00 PM
4-week series
Led by Georgann Lanich, former Foxfire student and pottery demonstrator
This four-week, hands-on class is for anyone who wants to capture and preserve family stories—whether to share with loved ones or simply for the joy of remembering.
Using the Foxfire method of journalism and writing, we’ll explore how real stories are gathered and told in the original words of the people who lived them, honoring both their experiences and their voices.
Participants will learn how Foxfire students listened deeply, asked thoughtful questions, and shaped interviews into meaningful written narratives. Using these same approaches, we’ll gather family stories and turn them into lively, personal accounts that can be shared, saved, and passed along.
This class is collaborative and hands-on. Over four weeks, we’ll learn together, gather stories, write, and workshop our pieces in a supportive community that values curiosity, respect, and the power of shared history.
✨ No prior writing experience needed.
📚 Memoirs will be discussed, though this class has a different central focus.
What to bring:
- A notebook or laptop for note-taking during class
- A way to record a conversation for work outside of class
- A laptop with Google access for final written work
