FREE ENTRY! Contact Brandon Mccluskey.50km,20km and 10km fun runs. Open gender, top 3 podium finish, medals, small aid station at the 5km, 10km and 25km turnaround spots, timed event but only the course record will be public. This is considered an unsupported ultra marathon (similar to the Barkley marathons) therefore aid stations will have minimal supplies and you are recommended to follow the gps file provided to remain on trail. Elevation is roughly 1500feet each direction with brook crossings and highway crossings passing several communities along the way.
Starting at Acamac Backland Road in Saint John, New Brunswick, The Heritage Ultra 50K will take you through the backcountry ATV trails through Grand Bay into the Mountainous Region of Welsford, New Brunswick and back. The course gets its name as a 15km section of the course in parallel to the classic Heritage Trail Passing the Saint John River and Nerapis River.
The 10km section will take you passed Bonnell Lake and into Grand Bay turning around at the Murray Street Bog.
The 20km runners will continue on passed several brook crossings and turns around near the Ferry to the Kingston Peninsula in Westfield, New Brunswick.
The 50km runners will continue through remote areas along the Nerapis River and swing back around at Cochrane Lane in Welsford, New Brunswick.
I hope you enjoy the route. Hikers can enjoy this point A to B trip passing many viewpoints, all types of terrain with backcountry camping, fishing spots and finishing with connections to viewpoints like Cochrane Lane Cliffs, Eagle Rock, Turtle Mountain and Welsford Falls.
