About this Event
The first play by a living, female playwright, to be performed at the National Theatre in 2008.
London 1913: At a crucial point in the campaign for female emancipation and women’s right to vote, militant suffragettes are engaged in a violent and shocking battle with the establishment.
Amongst the thousands of women incarcerated in Holloway Pr*son, Lady Celia Cain, trapped in a frustrating marriage, falls in love with a young seamstress, Eve Douglas, and both their lives take a dangerous turn amid the fight for freedom that challenges notions of class and sexuality.
Witness a compelling love story amidst one of the most important campaigns for female emancipation in the last 100 years
Directed by Aiden Condron
