About this Event
As we kick off Pride Month, we are proud to officially announce the premiere of Heaven In Detroit: A Sanctuary of Sound, a film honoring the legacy of Club Heaven, the legendary space that gave rise to the Godfather of House Music, Ken Collier, and served as an after-hours sanctuary of dance, music, and chosen family for Detroit’s Black LGBT+ community.
Join us as we celebrate Club Heaven on film, through conversation, performance, and on the dance floor.
Programming includes:
• Exclusive screening of Heaven In Detroit: A Sanctuary of Sound
• Discussion panel featuring the film's cast, crew, and voices from the Club Heaven community
• Special vogue performance honoring Detroit Ballroom culture
• Dance party celebrating the music and legacy of Club Heaven and Detroit House Music
