About this Event
Heartwood Voices from Environmental Education: Where academic research meets head, heart and hands and Heartwood 2: More Voices from Environmental Education are books collaboratively written by students and staff from King's Centre for Research in Education in STEM (CRESTEM). Both books offer heartfelt reflections on environmental education in the context of a climate crisis, shared by Master's students, lecturers, and PhD candidates all linked to King's MA in STEM Education in general, and the module Environment, Sustainability and the Role of Education in particular.
To celebrate the launch of both of these books, we are inviting you to join us at Holland Park Ecology Centre on 9th July. The event is a chance for those involved (in any way big or small) in the production of Heartwood and Heartwood 2 to come together and share their creation with friends, families, colleagues, and any other interested folk!
During the event, we will be unveiling Heartwood 2 (hot off the press!) and giving out copies of the original Heartwood for those who do not have one already. Matthew Rose (Heartwood collaborator and award winning environmental educator) will lead a creative outdoor activity in the beautiful natural space around Holland park Ecology Centre. A custom made Heartwood cake, nibbles and drinks will be provided, though we also welcome you to bring a bottle, jug or plate to add to the spread if you so wish!
