About this Event
PLEASE NOTE:
Our December Forum will happen earlier in the month than usual to account for Christmas and New Year holidays.
We will also be starting at 1.30pm and finishing at 3.30pm. This is one hour later than our usual time slot.
We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause. We hope to return to the normal 12.30pm slot in the new year, and we will keep our members updated on this.
About the Forum:
The Healthy Minds Forum is a collective voice for positive change to Calderdale's mental health.
The Forum is a friendly and inclusive space for people to come together to explore issues, feedback experiences and take action for positive mental health in Calderdale.
Anyone with an interest in working collectively to explore and tackle issues in mental health is welcome to join us. This includes people with lived experience of mental health struggles, health and social care workers and people from voluntary and community organisations.
The Forum group generally meets once a month, every last Wednesday, at Calderdale Industrial Museum.

About our Action Groups:
We are currently working in action groups, each focussed on a particular issue. Have a think about which action group you are most interested in before you come to the event:
1. Language, anti-stigma and mental health awareness. This could have an educational purpose with a focus on changing cultural awareness. Possibly with a view to develop workshops or a conference.
2. Signposting and service directories. Particularly exploring the issue of why directories of support haven’t worked in the past, and the potential of re-imagining what signposting can look and feel like.
3. Mental health inequalities, access and transport. This group will look at tackling issues of lack of representation of groups who experience mental health inequalities, including barriers to access.
4. Maintaining groups – sustainability and funding for ongoing peer-support. This group will focus on issues of sustainability for non-clinical mental health options in Calderdale.
